Real estate agents organize transactions between buyers and sellers. Agents are responsible for presenting offers and counteroffers between each party, along with any questions they may have. An agent will work with another agent when an offer is accepted, guiding clients through the process of filling out paperwork. The agent who represents sellers is called the listing agents. They also negotiate sales prices, closing costs, and other fees and help prepare, submit, and file documents.

There are costs associated with the sale of your home; some are optional or negotiable. The largest expenses for a seller will most likely be the real estate agent commissions and any unpaid mortgage.
